The Gallivan CF Charity Golf Tournament

Celebrating its 25th year in 2009, the "Gallivan" is Halifax's oldest celebrity golf tournament in Nova Scotia. The Gallivan was created by broadcaster Danny Gallivan, celebrated hockey personality Red Storey and a group of Halifax businessmen, as a way to raise research funds for the fight against Cystic Fibrosis. The event has raised well over $850,000 since its inception. After Cancer, CF is the number one killer of young people in Canada.

The event will take place at Old Ashburn on July 8th and 9th and will include approximately 20 celebrities from the world of sport and entertainment. Past celebrities have included: Rick Bowness, Murray Wilson, Hilliard Graves, Dave Andrews, Tracy Wilson, Colleen Jones, Craig Slaunwhite, Laurie Graham, Mike McPhee, Cam Russell, Terry Baker and Bob Cole among others.

Following the tournament all participants will help us to raise further funds for CF through the BMO Harris Private Banking Silent Auction. Many of these items are donated by our celebrities and the local business community and all funds raised through the tournament and the auction go directly to the Canadian Cystic Fibrosis Foundation .

This tournament could not happen without the support of our participants, celebrities, volunteers and sponsors and we thank you for your contribution to the fight against CF.
